The historical re-enactment will be held on October 5 and 6.

Bolingbroke Castle will turn back the clock early next month when living history displays descend on the historic site for a special re-enactment weekend.

The castle will also host ‘Siege Skirmish’ re-enactments during the festivities.

The special event will run on Saturday and Sunday, October 5 and 6.

“Have you ever wondered what happened at Bolingbroke Castle? On October 5 and 6 Sealed Knot, in association with the Friends of Bolingbroke Castle, present an exciting skirmish based on the castle siege of 1643 during the English Civil War,” said a spokesperson.

“There will be Living History Displays in the castle grounds from 9.30am to 4.30pm and at 2pm on each day there will be a battle re-enactment.

“This exciting event, in association with the Heritage Trust of Lincolnshire, celebrates a prominent time in the village’s history and is not to be missed.

“We look forward to seeing you there on one or both days at an event we are sure you will enjoy. It’s an event for all the family,” they added.

Tickets on the day will be £3.50, with free admission for accompanied children.
