Bat measures part of conversion approval

THE go-ahead has been given to a Wainfleet All Saints couple to convert outbuildings at 64 High Street in the town to a two-storey house - so long as they incorporate two bat-roosting blocks into the external fabric of the property.

East Lindsey planners made this stipulation in the wake of a report revealing that the existing buildings had sometimes been used for shelter, though not breeding, by both pipistrelle and long-eared bats.

The successful applicants are Mr and Mrs J. Colston.
