The Skegness Carnival Committee honoured the “great commitment and enthusiasm” of long-serving stalwarts Julie and Brian Chapman at a special presentation evening in the town last week.

The pair worked tirelessly for the carnival and town over 18 years, and their dedication was commemorated by an award by Skegness mayor Jim Carpenter at the presentation night in the Charnwood Hotel on Scarborough Avenue.

Chairman Margaret Taylor presented the Chapmans with flowers, a crystal decanter and glasses and thanked them for their friendship and invaluable work.

June Wilkinson was also presented with a clock on her retirement and thanked for the work she carried out over the years alonside Brian and Julie and the Carnival.

“Many friends and colleagues they have met over the years joined them to wish them luck and and happiness in their retirement,” said a Carnival Committee spokesperson.

“A big thankyou also from the committee to Karen and Stuart from the Charnwood Hotel for their warm hospitality and help,” the spokesperson added.
