Police have appealed for information after arsonists caused thousands of pounds of damage in a blaze at a Welton le Marsh quarry.

Two excavators were destroyed and a third was damaged following the fire overnight last night (October 14/15).

“We are appealing for information after a fire at a quarry destroyed expensive plant machinery,” said a police spokesperson.

“A fire was deliberately set which destroyed two excavators and damaged a third, resulting in many thousands of pounds worth of damage,” the added.
