Skegness Army Cadet Detachment has been presented with the Lucas Tooth Trophy for being the best detachment in Lincolnshire.

The presentation was made at annual camp by Lord-Lieutenant for Lincolnshire Toby Dennis and received on behalf of the detachment by cadet staff sergeant Josh Speed.

All 31 of Lincolnshire’s detachments are carefully assessed throughout a 12-month period and judged in areas such as attendance numbers, recruitment success, BTEC results, Duke of Edinburgh Award participation, sporting success and community involvement.

During the winter, Skegness cadets were involved in clearing sand from the coastal paths and their sterling efforts will have played a big part in their trophy success.

Competition from other detachments was fierce with Cherry Willingham, Sleaford and North Somercotes snapping at their heels all the way.

The success crowned another great 12 months for the Skegness Detachment.
