GENEROUS pupils at an Alford school have helped to raise well over £5,000 for charity.
Each year Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School chooses a charity to support.
This year the school chose The Alzheimer’s Society and they recently presented a cheque for £5,600 to the charity’s regional representative, Hayley Childs.
“This is a tremendous effort from the students who threw themselves wholeheartedly into their fundraising efforts during Charity Week,” said a spokesperson for the school.
“Occasionally painful (several of the senior prefects volunteered to have their legs waxed), sometimes strenuous (staff and students undertook a 24-hour fitness circuit) and often inspiring (a music concert), it was a rewarding total for a very good cause,” they added.
