Alford ‘hoax’ firearm incident

Police received an anonymous call yesterday evening (Wednesday, March 26) at approximately 6.30pm, alleging that a person had a firearm.

As routine procedure, a firearms response was initiated and police attended an address in South Street, Alford.

After speaking with the occupants and searching the property, it became apparent that it was a hoax call.

Enquiries are however continuing and police are investigating who may have made the call.
