A series of night closures will start on Monday (May 18) as work continues to replace a pedestrian crossing on the A52 in Skegness.

The project to replace the existing pelican crossing with a new puffin crossing is aimed to improve safety at the Winthorpe Avenue junction on Roman Bank.

Work to the crossing, which needed to be replaced due to its age, has been incorporated into a £500,000 road reconstruction scheme.

To enable surfacing to take place, the road will be closed from 7pm to 6am from Monday when there will be signed diversions in place.

Work is planned to be completed in time for the Bank Holiday weekend. The road will be open as usual from 6am to 7pm each day.

The diversion will take motorists from the A52 Roman Bank South, A158 Burgh le Marsh Bypass West, C541 Marsh Lane/Addlethorpe Bypass, A52 Roman Bank South.
