Volunteers sought in gardening project

MORE volunteers are needed around the county for a gardening programme driven by national charity, Garden Organic.

The programme involves the development of a number of community gardens and the promotion of people learning the art of growing their own vegetables.

The project is supported by the Health and Well-being Fund, a partnership between NHS Lincolnshire and Lincolnshire County Council.

The Lincolnshire Master Gardener programme, which started in April 2011, is a volunteer network supporting local people and communities to grow fruit and vegetables in their gardens and communal land.

A total of 51 volunteers already help the programme and a number of training sessions are taking place on March 10 and 11.
