Troupe set for Oliver!

THE Embassy School of Performing Arts will bring their rendition of Oliver! to the stage next week.

They will tread the boards of the Embassy Theatre for three performances in the middle of the month.

“Nothing works on the stage like a well-crafted tale, and ‘Oliver!’ is just such a show,” said a spokesperson.

“Based on the Dickens novel, it will engage the audience with its pathos and drama, while delighting everyone with its outstanding musical numbers.

“Food, Glorious Food, I’d Do Anything, Where is Love?, Consider Yourself, As Long As He Needs Me, Who Will Buy and Reviewing the Situation are musical theatre classics.

“Dickens’ characters are brought to life- perhaps larger than life - with all their facets glowing in this production,” they added.

The show will run from Thursday, July 12 to Saturday, July 14 inclusive, with shows nightly at 7pm.

Tickets cost £12.50 for adults, £11.50 for over 60s and £6 for children.

The show is an amateur production by arrangement with MusicScope and Stage Musicals Limited of New York.
