Skegness pupils helped smash the Guinness world record for skipping – unofficially at least – 10 years ago

It was believed the previous record of 19,000 people had been smashed with 49,000 people taking part, including youngsters from 17 schools in the area.

Among them was Skegness Grammar School, where the Standard’s editor Rebekah Gunn acted as an adjudicator (left).
