A jack hammer was used to ‘cut the first sod’ to signal the start of work on the Sunshine paddling pool redevelopment in Skegness 10 years ago.

Mayor of Skegness Coun Neil Pimperton took the hammer, needed to get through the concrete, to mark the occasion along with fellow councillors and local youngsters.

The pool in North Parade was to be transformed into a children’s play area.
