THE NORTHCOTE Heavy Horse centre in Great Steeping is set to host a traditional old Summer Fete this coming Sunday (June 26).
Everything from gymnasts to fire-breathing and ‘unicorns’ are lined-up for what organisers hope will be an extra-special day.
“There will be various demonstrations in the ring by the resident horses themselves, gymnastics on horseback, fire breathing, magical unicorns and performing goats are just a few things going on,” said Terena Bolam, who runs the centre with other volunteers.
“There will also be a fun dog show run by the Icthus dog training group,” Terena added.
Away from the ring there are expected to be plenty of stalls featuring games, cakes, floral competitions and welly-wanging.
A licensed bar will also be provided by The Bell from Halton Holegate. The fun and games will also be broadcast on the airwaves thanks to Lindsey Coast Radio, who will be broadcasting live from the centre during much of the event.
Terena added: “We have all been really looking forward to this and are hoping that local residents will want to come and join in the fun too.
“We really want this to be a nice village show and a get together for locals as well as promoting the centre and local businesses.”
For more information about the event, or to book a stall then phone Terena on 01754 830 286.
Gates at the event will open at 10.45am and the fun will run from 11.15am to 3pm. Admission is £3.50 for adults and £2.50 for children and OAPs.
