We love to hear your memories on the pictures we feature, including if you can put names to faces.

We also love to see your nostalgic pictures you would like to share with readers. You can email them over to stephen.stray@jpress.co.uk.

These pictures have been supplied by former press photographer Ben Hardaker.

In a publicity stunt in March 1987, before the demolition of the old Hildreds Hotel, the Skegness Jolly Fisherman was pictured with a large hammer ready to help with the work.

“Even in those days there was an element of health and safety, so he never got to take a swing at the building!” said Ben.

Another photo sees magician Paul Daniels cutting the ribbon to declare Hildreds Shopping Centre open on September 17, 1988, watched by wife and assistant Debbie McGee and Alan Carr (centre) from the publicity arm of East Lindsey District Council.

Janice Sutton dancers entertained the crowd prior to the official opening.

Janice is pictured with some of her dance pupils in good voice with a song for the occasion.
