Members of a gun club in Burgh le Marsh have praised Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue for their quick response to a customer in need.
Jack and Kate Shepherd, from Coventry, were on holiday in Skegness and visiting Burgh Rifle and Pistol Club at Lincolnshire Shooting Centre when Mr Shepherd keeled over with symptoms of a heart attack.
He was having a meal at the club’s restaurant at the time and staff rushed to his aid, while others called the emergency services.
The fire service were the first to arrive on scene.
Club owner Doug Purdy said: “The couple said they would like to thank the fire service who arrived within four minutes when Jack suffered a suspected heart attack. Thankfully, after being taken to hospital, he made a full recovery.”
He added: “Both Jack and Kate would also like to thank the staff at the Lincolnshire Shooting Centre for giving an excellent first response.”
