THE Playhouse Cinema is set to screen Italian comedy drama Loose Cannons on Monday evening.
Louth Film Club will host the screening at 7.30pm.
“Beautifully filmed in and around the Puglian town of Lecce, Mine Vaganti, to give the film its original title, gently mocks Italian (or at least southern Italian) family values,” said a spokesperson.
“The younger of two brothers wants to come out as gay and also to escape the family pasta business he is expected to take over.
“But he’s thwarted from doing so in a most unexpected way,” they added.
The movie is in Italian with subtitles and is certificate 12A.
Non-members are welcome to attend, paying the normal Playhouse Cinema ticket prices.
The club’s programme of films, up to January next year, is available, free, from Off The Beaten Tracks record shop at 36 Aswell Street (closed on Thursdays) or from Louth Library or the Playhouse. The club’s website — www.louthfilmclub.com — also has details of its forthcoming films.
