Film Club to screen poignant tale

LOUTH Film Club is set to screen the South African movie ‘Life, Above All’ on Monday (July 23) at 7.30pm.

“This poignant tale of hardship and hope in a South African village features an outstanding performance by Khomotso Manyaka as a 12-year-old girl battling for herself and her family against poverty, ill-health, prejudice and intolerance,” said a spokesperson.

“It’s based on Allan Stratton’s novel Chanda’s Secrets,” they added.

The movie will be screened at the Playhouse CInema in Louth. It is 105 minutes long and is rated 12A.

Tickets to club films cost £3.50 for members. Non-members pay the Playhouse Cinema’s normal ticket price, which is currently £5.90 or £4.70 concessions.
