All are invited to watch a real Christmas treat in Skegness this weekend.

The Rabbit Theatre will be putting on the tale of Dickens’ Great Expectations on Sunday, December 8 from 7.30pm at The Skegness Grammar School, Vernon Road, Skegness.

This one man show, which took more than one to make, is ‘daft’, ‘delightful’ and ‘definitely Dickens’, say its creators.

It is being put on as part of East Lindsey District Council’s Community Touring programme and will be performed by a professional actor with many talents and experiences under his belt.

Written of course by Charles Dickens, but performed by David Mynne and directed by Simon Harvey, it sets the scene on Christmas Eve in 1803 with Pip, a seven year-old orphan boy, visiting his mother’s grave.

Then later a frightening encounter with an escaped convict begins a series of events that will change his life forever.

Tickets on the door cost £9, £3 for young people.
