Comedy Club returns

THE Embassy Theatre’s popular Comedy Club evening returns with another cracking line-up tomorrow (Thursday).

The latest laugh-fest will begin at 8pm and feature the likes of headliner Noel James.

“Now established as a regular event in our comedy calendar, the Embassy Theatre, in association with ‘The Comedy Tea House’ is delighted to present our latest Comedy Club night,” said a spokesperson.

“MC for the evening is Dave Williams.

“He has been a full time comedian since way back in 1998 and has embarked on a career that has taken him all around the world, either as a headliner or a compere.

“A Comedy Store regular, Dave has several successful Edinburgh shows under his belt, and also writes and presents workshops in improvisation, assertiveness and creativity

“Opener Dom Woodward worked in McDonalds and a bookshop before becoming a writer and actor as well as a stand up in 2001, and features in the regular ‘Unbroadcastable Radio Show’ from the Comedy Store.

“Back in 2004 he won “Best Breakthrough Act” at the North West Comedy Awards and can now be found plying his trade at all the top clubs on the UK circuit

“Middle Act Pete Otway is an up-and-coming act.

“We try to keep the middle spot here at the Embassy for the ‘up and coming’ acts, and Pete fits the bill perfectly.

“Despite only performing for a couple of years, he won the prestigious ‘World Series’ competition at the infamous Frog & Bucket in Manchester. He is definitely one to watch.

“Headliner Noel James is a true original, revered by other comics as a true artist, the gag count in his seemingly stream of consciousness set is astounding.

“Didn’t like that one? There’s another coming along in seconds.

“A one-off in every sense of the word, he has been described as surreal, bizarre, absurd, intelligent, accessible and very, very funny,” they added.

Tickets cost just £8 per person.
