FANS of Matt Cardle have been given new hope about next week’s concert in Boston.
As the Standard announced yesterday (Thursday), authorities have refused to grant a licence for the X Factor star’s concert at Boston Town FC ground next Saturday, May 26.
The decision was made at a meeting of Boston Borough Council’s licensing sub committee following ‘serious concerns regarding public safety’ for the event.
With just days left before the gig, organiser Mick Vines has been searching for an alternative venue in Boston. And he has now found one:
Speaking to the Boston Standard, he said: “We’ve got the Princess Royal Sports Arena, and we are now just waiting to hear back from Matt Cardle’s agents as to whether they agree to the new venue.”
Mr Vines said the date and time of the event will not change, local bands will still be supporting, and VIP tickets will not be affected.
“There is a special area at the arena that we can still use as a VIP lounge.”
He added: “We have been fighting to save this for Matt Cardle’s fans - but it’s now just down to his agency as to whether this can go ahead there.”
