A traditional craft market will be held in Alford over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Alford Craft Market will host the event ‘Festival of Glass’ over the weekend of May 25, 26 and 27 between 10am and 5pm each day.
It will be held in Alford Manor House grounds.
The public will also be able to meet a variety of artisans and makers who will be selling their high quality goods, and visitors can also learn about their work.
“The products on offer are a story of skills and talent, something that you won’t find in every shopping centre in the country,” said a spokesperson.
“We have called this year’s event a ‘Festival of Glass’ and among numerous artists from around the region, our event will showcase artists who work with glass,” they added.
A number of glass-work artists will demonstrate their skills during the event.
Antony Wassell will demonstrate glass-blowing, Fyre Birds will showcase glass bead making, Gillian Wing and Fiona Radford will explore stained glass, and Hazel Graves glass painting.
Workshops will also be available for those looking to ‘try their hand’ at some of the skills. Work from these artists will also be available for sale.
Entry to the event is free.
“However we greatly welcome and appreciate all donations,” a spokesperson explained.
“Alford Craft Market is entirely run by volunteers and all your donations help towards funding our events. Come along, have some fun, learn something new and go home with something unique,” they added.
