East Lindsey District Council (ELDC) has taken the steps to keep traffic flowing and prevent confusion caused by the access to the Festival Car Park no longer being near the Clock Tower down Tower Esplanade.

Signage is in place along main streets, including Lumley Road, to highlight cars can still access the Embassy car park along Tower Esplanade.

However, the entrance to the Festival Car Park has now been moved due to the pedestrianisation of the area up to the Lifeboat Station.

Paul Harrison, Principal Civil Enforcement Officer Parking Services, explained: "With the alterations to Tower Esplanade and the pedestrianisation we are directing traffic down South Parade to the entrance of the Princes Parade car park, which is the new entrance to the Festival Car Park.

"All other car parks in Skegness are open this weekend. That includes the Embassy car park, which is now the only car park you can access down Tower Esplanade."

It was a quiet start for marshals on Good Friday morning. Francis Wilson said: "I've directed a few cars down South Parade but think the weather may have put people off.

"It's due to be even colder on Monday, so we may not be too busy."
