"Thank you to everyone for sharing your amazing memories with us over this past week! They have certainly brightened our day."

Among the messages of support were:

Sheena Wilson: Happy 25th anniversary. Keep up the amazing work you all do and stay safe.

Andrew Cook: Happy anniversary to you. Have a great day. Miss you. Hopefully we will be able to make it this year. All fingers crossed.

Earlier, Fantasy Island hinted that visitors hopefully will not have to wait too much longer with a fun YouTube video, which features the Prime Minister Boris Johnson making plans for his summer holiday in a caravan after a "rollercoaster start to the year" with the message: "Think of the fun we'll have if we stick to the rules a little longer."

The park's message to customers on their website says: "We’re extremely excited to welcome you all back as soon as possible.

"Whilst we wait for government guidance, we’re busy putting measures in place ready for when we are able to reopen.

"We will do our all to keep you safe and therefore, we are looking to make some changes to the way that we operate our resort."

Some of these changes include:

Rides

These will operate on a pre-booked only ticketing system. Visitors who have not booked online will not be permitted on the site.

Limited capacity fun riding sessions will operate at fixed times throughout the day. This will reduce the number of people attending at any one time, to enable our customers to enjoy attractions whilst adhering to social distancing rules and to keep employees, visitors and the wider community safe.

Market Town

A free entry, one-way walk through system will enable free flowing, safe shopping.

A controlled capacity will ensure social distancing measures are achieved and a more relaxed shopping experience is available to visitors.

Additional measures by individual trading units will be applied to ensure convenience and safety.

There will be a new calendar, but it will only be released when the park is 100% clear of the relevant guidance.
