THE winner of a ‘food’ themed creative event held at The Old Forge Art Studio throughout the summer term was Diane Newton, from Wainfleet, with her quirky collection of ceramic poisons.

Her work, entitled ‘Roll Up, Roll Up, La Bowl Macabre. Choose Your Poison’, is pictured.

Sara Baird, also from Wainfleet, took second place with her lovely ceramic Bowl of Mushrooms.

The competition was open to everyone who attends the various ceramic and textile classes available at The Old Forge Art Studio, Wainfleet Bank, Skegness.

Barbara Melling, owner of the studio, said: “This was our first themed competition and it was very successful.

“The standard was very high and we had some fabulous entries including ceramics, batiks and hand-felted items.

“Diane’s entry was voted the winner by the other students and visitors to the studio.”
