For the first time in its long history, Wainfleet Theatre Club is bringing the much-loved fairy ‘tail’ Puss in Boots to the stage.

The traditional family pantomime will be performed at the Coronation Hall, in Wainfleet, this Saturday and next Saturday, January 31, at 2.30pm and 7.30pm, and also on Friday, January 30 at 7.45pm.

The production uses an original script which has been especially written for the club.

It contains the usual blend of characters and capers you would expect from Wainfleet Theatre Club, plus lots of audience participation - ‘oh, yes it does!’ And don’t forget to ‘look out behind you’ because you will never know what is going to happen next.

Watch the hero, Puss, try to help his master, the rather ‘slow-off-the-mark’ Marquis de Waynflete, to win the hand of the fair Princess Catherine.

Puss has to outwit his master’s two brothers as they attempt to thwart the hero’s ambitions and, of course, the lovely charms of Mistress Berry await any unsuspecting man that happens to meet her way.

She, together with palace staff, create enough mayhem to make sure the path of true love is not an easy one.

A spokesman for the club said: “A feast of fun awaits you.”

Front row tickets cost £7.50 (conc £6.50), others £6.50 (conc £6), and are available from Wainfleet Pet Store, in High Street.
