SPECTACULAR musical The Wizard of Oz is set to roll into Skegness next month as part of a UK-wide tour featuring one of the Dorothy hopefuls from the BBC’s smash show ‘Over the Rainbow’.
As well as the show’s semi-finalist Steph Fearon, the star-studded cast includes the like of entertainment legend Bobby Davro as the Scarecrow, and CBeebies star Sarah-Jane Honeywell as Glinda.
“Follow the yellow brick road this spring and join Kansas farm-girl Dorothy and her pet dog Toto on a magical adventure to Oz,” said a spokesperson.
“With help from their new friends the Munchkins, Dorothy and Toto to travel to the Emerald City where the great Wizard of Oz lives.
“On their way they meet a Scarecrow who needs a brain, a Tin Man who wants a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who desperately needs courage.
“Will the wonderful Wizard of Oz be able to help them before the Wicked Witch of the West captures them in her dungeon?
“The Wizard of Oz is packed with great songs, amazing dance routines and plenty of laughter for all the family!
“We’re off to see the Wizard, come and join in the fun!” they added.
The show will be performed in the Embassy Theatre in Skegness on Sunday, April 10 at 2pm and 6pm, and again on Monday, April 11 at 2pm.
Other cast members include CBBC Presenter Ben Hanson (Bouncer in Tracy Beaker) as Tin Man and Rob Forknall as The Wizard.
Jimmy Burton-Iles is Lion, Danny Mills as Squeaker, and Kate Richards is the Wicked Witch.
