FAMOUS Charles Dicken’s tale ‘Great Expectations’ is set to receive the stage treatment in Louth this Friday (October 21).
The Hotbuckle Theatre Company will perform a new adaptation of the work in Louth’s Riverhead Theatre at 7.30pm.
“Hotbuckle explodes onto the stage with this new, innovative adaptation of one of Dickens’s greatest novels,” said a spokesperson.
“With all of the comedy, mystery, violent melodrama, suspense and poignancy of the original, it tells of Pip’s journey from boyhood to manhood as he seeks to find out who he is and his place in an inhospitable world.
“It is a story of love and loss, of guilt and shame, of fear and courage and has some of the most vivid and memorable characters in all of English literature.
With the bicentenary of Dickens’s birth coming next year, this electrifying, exhilerating and moving production is a must-see,” they added.
Tickets to the show cost £8 (£7 for TheatreCards) and £7 for Senior Citizens (£6 with a TheatreCard.
