DERBYSHIRE based sculptor Rachel Carter is heading to the annual Alford Craft Market demonstrating to visitors how she creates her unique designs.
Rachel will take residency at Alford Manor House on August 28 and 29 and visitors will have an opportunity to see firsthand how she creates her woven sculptures, which are made by entwining willow rods that are woven into welded steel, combining traditional methods of weaving and metal work to marry the two materials together.
Visitors to the show will also have an opportunity to take part in workshops where they can create their own unique decorated wreaths to take away.
In addition, Rachel will be creating one of her Grand Sphere Sculptures throughout the festival which will become a permanent installation in Alford Manor House’s gardens.
