The chart-topping twin brothers Craig and Charlie Reid, better known as The Proclaimers, play Skegness’ Embassy Theatre this week.

The Leith-born duo, who combine pop, folk, new wave, and punk, come to the Grand Parade venue on Friday at 7.30pm.

It comes as part of a seven-month tour in 2016 which began in April with their first-ever shows in Hong Kong, included a concert at Australia’s iconic Sydney Opera House, and will see two months’ worth of gigs in the US and Canada.

Craig and Charlie will then come off the road to focus on writing and recording with a view to being back out live in 2018.

This year’s globe-trotting tour follows a 68-date UK tour (15 festivals and 53 sold out theatres) last year on the back of their 10th studio album, the acclaimed Let’s Hear It For The Dogs.

Festival highlights in 2015 included Wychwood, Glastonbury, T In The Park, Cambridge, Carfest, Belladrum, and V Festivals.

On Friday, expect such classics as Sunshine On Leith, (I’m Gonna Be) 500 Miles, Letter From America, I’m On My Way, Life With You, and Lets Get Married.

They will be supported by critically acclaimed folk singer Will Varley.

Tickets for the show start at £26. To book, call 01507 613100 or visit www.embassytheatre.co.uk
