A TALENTED musician and performer from Ingoldmells has managed to win herself a place at a prestigious college in London.
Natalie Waddle, 18, has been attending Lincoln College studying performing arts and was ecstatic when she found out she had been accepted onto a course at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in London.
“I was so excited when I found out that I’d got the place but I’m nervous too because I will have to move to London,” said Natalie.
The year long course begins in September where Natalie will study vocals and song writing.
“I’ve been singing since I was three and London is really the place to go for all of that. I saw that a member of The Kooks had been to that music college and I’m looking forward to opportunities that arise from being there,” added Natalie.
And the former, Seathorne and King Edward VI Humanities College Student, has already got tons of experience performing and singing because of jobs she has had as part of agency she works for.
“I’ve been singing in pubs and clubs for a long time I would describe my sound as having an R&B vibe. I really like artists such as, Christina Aguilera, Maria Carey, Alicia Keys and divas,” explained Natalie.
As part of the course, Natalie will also get the chance to learn different styles of music such as jazz and soul where she’ll get the opportunity to work with a live band.
Natalie’s mum, Ann Whiteman, said of the exciting news, “I’m so proud of Natalie, me and her dad are. She has been singing since she was a young girl and this is something she really wants to do.”
Plus, the aspiring songstress has already written and co-produced a song of her own which will be released by a record label later in the year, Natalie said.
The song is called ‘Love again’ and is available to listen to already at Sound Cloud visit: http://soundcloud.com/search?q%5Bfulltext%5D=+natalie+waddle+love+again
