A special concert will be held later this month to mark the centenary of the official opening of Wainfleet Coronation Hall.

Although built in 1911 to commemorate the coronation of King George V, it wasn’t until September 27, 1913 that HRH Princess Marie Louise of Schleswig- Holstein visited Wainfleet to conduct the official opening.

To commemorate the occasion, a centenary celebration concert and a static display of memorabilia will be presented at the hall on Saturday, September 28.

The concert will feature performances by local individuals together with representatives of the various organisations associated with the Hall during the past 100 years. It promises to be a fun filled evening of entertainment to suit all ages.

There will be a licensed bar and refreshments available. Doors will open at 6.30pm for viewing of the displays, and the concert will commence at 7.30pm. Admission is free but tickets must be obtained in advance. To order tickets call Derek on 01754 881744 or Allan on 01754 880419.
