Famous cricketer at sportsmen’s dinner

LEGENDARY opening England batsman and Ashes winning batting coach Graham Gooch will be hosting a fund raising Sportsman’s dinner this Friday.

In addition to a three course meal, guests at the Links Hotel, Drummond Road, will also have the opportunity to ask the cricketer questions about his illustrious career and to hear anecdotes from the years he spent playing international cricket.

Further entertainment will be provided by comedian John Stiles, son of the famous footballer Nobby Stiles, who will be comparing the evening.

All money raised will go towards local organisation Care Support 4 U’s ongoing efforts to support local lad Joshua Russell.

Joshua has suffered many medical setbacks from a very young age and Care Support 4 U have rallied behind him to send him on a rehabilitative trip to swim with dolphins in August.

Tickets for the evening including the meal cost £40 or a table of eight or more costs just £35 per head.
