Musicians rocked up and the money rolled in at a fundraising gig in Skegness.

The Band Central charity night raised £331 with the proceeds donated to the Ryan Smith Foundation, BBC Children in Need and Compassionate Friends.

Skegness Grammar School student Conner Jackson was inspired to organise the concert after serving on the school’s charity committee last year.

Bass guitarist Conner lined up with his band Nytewalkers alongside Get Up & Dance, Vigilantes and The James Vezer Trio for the gig at Grand Central.

He said: “A lot of people came along and everybody seemed to enjoy it and have a great time.”

Conner attended school with Ryan Smith, who was seriously injured after a collision with a van in July last year and George Chambers whose family fundraise for the Compassionate Friends charity in memory of George’s brother Matthew who died in a car accident.
