A former Skegness dance school pupil is appearing on ITV’s popular dating programme Take Me Out.

The show, hosted by Paddy McGuinness, returned to TV screens on Saturday and Margarita Sebastian appeared as one of the original ‘Flirty Thirty’.

‘I have really happy memories – including lots of fish and chips’

The 24-year-old forensic psychology student spent time in the Skegness area between the ages of 11-15, attending classes at the Janice Sutton School of Dance.

She said: “Janice Sutton prepared me to go into boarding school in Hartfordshire.

“It was absolutely fantastic, I adored going there. The shows we did were just amazing every single
year and the teachers were fantastic.”

Margarita also appeared in a documentary programme about the school for the BBC.

She often returned to her family home just outside Skegness during weekends and holidays.

She said: “I have really happy memories – including lots of fish and chips. I haven’t had fish and chips quite like it since.”

She studied performing arts at the boarding school, where her focus changed to more academic studies and she decided to take up forensic psychology at university.

However, she said she missed performing and showbusiness - which is part of the reason she applied to appear on Take Me Out – as well as having been single for around eight months.

She said getting accepted onto the show felt ‘amazing’.

“I applied for the show and did not think I would hear back, not a chance – there’s so many applicants and those which apply are so
attractive.

“Then they short-listed me and I felt that was a compliment in itself.”

Margarita described the other girls as ‘fantastic and friendly’ and said they were a bigger part of the show to her than getting a date, adding: “I’ve never had so many compliments backstage before.

“Everybody’s genuinely happy for each other.”

She said there were a few cringe-worthy moments this series and described host Paddy as ‘down to earth’ and a ‘big brother’ to the girls on the show.

During the first episode on Saturday, Margarita did not go on a date to the ‘Isle of Fernando’s’ - but how will she do this week? The show airs at 8pm on Saturday nights.
