Achieving his dream in the world of ballet is Skegness’s very own Joseph Taylor.

The dancer, 19, of Hoylake Drive, Skegness, has now joined the Northern Ballet Company and is in the new ballet, ‘The Great Gatsby’ in Leeds. The company will then go on tour.

“I am so proud of what Joseph has achieved and we all wish him every success in the future,” said Janice Sutton, whose theatre school set Joseph on the road to success.

Joseph is the son of June and Will Taylor and began his dancing training at Janice’s theatre school; appearing in all of the school’s productions at the Embassy in his time there.

As a young boy, he passed all of his dance examinations with honours, achieving intermediate ballet in modern jazz, before joining the Elmhurst ballet school. In his graduation year, Joseph received the award for ‘highest achievement’, which was presented by artistic director Kevin O’Hare, of the Royal Ballet School.

Joseph then went to Japan, where he performed in ‘Don Quixote’ with the International Youth Ballet and has travelled the world, working in master classes and performances with renowned ballet companies.
