Show organiser Geoff Brown speaks to Skegness Standard reporter Lee Croft on what visitors can expect to see during the 37th annual SkegEx Meccano exhibition currently underway in Skegness.
The Embassy Theatre has been busy all day with visitors to the show which will take place today (Friday, July 4) to Sunday, July 6.
Amongst the array of spectacular large scale models on show this year is a huge bucket wheel excavator, the type that is commonly found on the continent for stripping out brown coal.
There is also a six foot wingspan Canberra Bomber aircraft, a six foot long Mersey Paddle Steamer, plus a huge vintage Meccano and Hornby 0 gauge train display.
“This is our 37th year in Skegness and it’s great to be back. There will be all manner of road vehicles on show, including some magnificent showman’s engines and similar vintage steam models,” said Geoff.
SkegEx is organised by the North Midlands Meccano Guild.
Admission is £3.50, children £1.50 and families charged at £8.
