Alternative rockers Toploader will replace previously-booked soul singer Lemar - who has had to pull out of the third annual festival in Burgh le Marsh this July.

They will join chart-toppers Scouting for Girls, among others, in the line-up for this year’s two-day event.

Festival organiser Jose Giraldez said: “Due to unfortunate circumstances beyond of our control, we are extremely sorry to inform all festival goers Lemar will no longer be appearing this year.

“The Lakes have been working hard behind the scenes to find a suitable replacement for the festival, and as a result, are now delighted to confirm that multi-million selling band Toploader will be supporting The Shires on day two of this year’s exciting event.”

Best known for their single Dancing In The Moonlight, Toploader have earned four Brit award nominations in the past and are currently in the middle of making their fourth studio album.

The festival, which runs from Friday-Saturday, July 15-16, has a variety of bands already booked - including a Norweigan act Them Lewis Boys, several UK bands and those more local to the area.

It takes place at Sycamore Lakes, in Skegness Road, and will be followed by a fireworks display. Camping is available on-site. Tickets cost from £23. Call 01754 811198.
