Around 180 pupils from 12 local schools brought their best singing voices to perform in the annual Spilsby Schools’ Music Festival at Spilsby Methodist Church recently.
Conducted by Amanda Rivers, local piano teacher and director of youth theatre in Boston and Skegness; the children performed a programme of songs based round the theme ‘Space’.
The children, who had learnt the songs with their teachers in school, first came together for a rehearsal on Tuesday, March, 19.
The children particularly enjoyed being able to sing as a large group and made alien head dresses and masks, with prizes for the best mask being awarded each night.
During the interval, music was provided by pupils of King Edward VI Academy, Spilsby, led by their Head of Music, Miss Charlotte Burton.
The primary schools involved were: Butterwick, Friskney, Gipsey Bridge, Great Steeping, Halton Holegate, New Leake, Partney, Sibsey, Spilsby, Stickney, Toynton All Saints and Wainfleet.
