Somersby House to host Alfred Lord Tennyson event

Somersby House, near Spilsby will host an Alfred Lord Tennyson event on Sunday, August 3.

The event will feature author Ann Thwaite and singer Kate Witney.

Celebrated author Ann Thwaite will be holding an informative talk on her book ‘Emily Tennyson, the Poets Wife’ and singer Kate Witney will sing and play some of Alfred’s poems, which Emily put to music, in the former rectory, birthplace and home of Tennyson. Emily, who hailed from Horncastle also spent time in the house when visiting Alfred and his sisters, with whom she was great friends.

Preceding the Event there will be Afternoon Teas served from 3.30pm on the lawn and the talk will take place from 4.30pm.

Tickets for the talk are £5 and booking is desired as Space is limited.
