Skegness cinema unveils digital projection

The Tower Cinema in Skegness embraced the digital revolution last week when it held a special free screening evening to mark the launch of its latest state-of-the-art kit.

The cinema now boasts full digital projection on its screens, meaning film-goers should enjoy the same high-quality cinema experience as they would in a major multiplex.

A spokesperson for the cinema, addressing the crowds during the launch, said the new equipment marked a bright new chapter for the Tower and that the “massive changes” to the projection equipment would give the cinema “superb quality” visuals, and meant it could “now offer the same dynamic picture quality that you can find in any multiplex.”

They added that the new projectors were part of a “significant” ongoing investment in the cinema equipment over the past few years.

The cinema is also running a number of offers - from year passes, and off-peak tickets at £3.50 for ‘lunchtime’ shows), to buy one, get one free deals, children’s parties and more. The new digital equipment also means the site can be used for conferences.
