A range of talented artists from around the area have already been lined up for a planned pop-up gallery in the heart of Skegness.
Through a combined passion for art and events, Hildreds’ deputy manager Steve Andrews, Addlethorpe artist May Jones and photographer John Byford have chosen a vacant unit within the Hildreds Shopping Centre to showcase public art in a very public place.
The pop-up gallery, called H-art, takes place next Friday, January 25, with 11 artists to display their work, including; Mark Baumber, Steve Gould, John Byford, Barbara Melling, Nicki Jarvis, May Jones, Emma Rawlings, Zara Byford and Steve Andrews.
Steve said: “What better way to show public art than in a very public place.
“It’s something different and shoppers might feel they can just look around, whereas a traditional gallery can seem a bit stuffy.”
And, the team have got even bigger plans for the gallery with local students from schools set to get involved in the future.
Anyone interested in the pop-up gallery and opportunities should contact May Jones on 07971 713056.
Opening hours from Friday to Monday are 9.30am-5.30pm and Sunday from 10-4pm.
