Weather spoils Skeg’s early away form

Lincolnshire ECB Premier League

Skegness 192 for 9 at Bourne

Match abandoned

A fine innings of 89 from Pete Houghton put Skegness in a strong position at Bourne before the rain intervened.

Houghton’s run-a-ball innings included nine fours and two sixes. His second wicket partnership with Saeed Bariwala was worth 96.

Skegness were 131 for 2 when the weather first interrupted proceedings after 29 overs, but the home side fought back to take seven wickets for 61.

The teams took an early tea when a heavy downpour caused another break in the play.

Unfortunately they never resumed after the pitch surround became too muddy.

On Saturday Skegness host Sleaford at Richmond Drive (12.30pm start).
