Wainfleet United overcome early two-goal setback to win 4-2

Sutterton started in fine style, and went into a 2-0 lead, before Tom Jenkins scored to make it 2-1, before Wainfleet scored twice more through a superb strike by Michael Parnham and a well taken goal by Bob Jackson, giving them a 3-2 lead at the interval.

In the second half, Wainfleet keeper Joe Perry made some fantastic saves, and Wainfleet scored once more through a second goal by Tom Jenkins.

Wainfleet’s man of the match was Tom Jenkins.

The week after, Wainfleet are away against Billinghay Reserves, with a 3.30pm kick off.

Next season, Wainfleet United will have a reserve team in Boston and District division three, while the first team will remain in division one of the Boston and District league.

Matthew Broome will take over as secretary, while Jason Carter will remain as treasurer and Barry Baker will remain chairman.
