Gainsborough Town closed the gap on the top of the Sills and Betteridge Lincolnshire League after the game between the leading two was rained off.

Two goals from Craig Lill saw off the challenge of Grimsby Borough Reserves to take Town to within five points of second placed Cleethorpes Town Reserves.

Fifth placed Nettleham slumped to a heavy defeat at Hykeham, while Sleaford Town Reserves shared the spoils at Lincoln United Reserves.

Louth Town’s second string climbed to eighth with a comfortable win at home to Heckington United, while Market Rasen Town picked up a useful three points with a win over Horncastle Town.
