Skegness United 4

Heckington 2

JUST as they did in their challenge cup victory over Heckington, Skegness United had to come back from behind to claim the three points.

Midway through the first half, Glen Robinson rose at the far post to head past keeper Martyn Margarson.

The lead lasted less than four minutes thanks to an equaliser from John Courtney, who beat down a clearance from a visiting defender and rounded Neil Terry in the visitors’ goal.

Heckington restored their lead with five minutes of the first half left when Harry Kirwan slotted home a loose ball.

The home side levelled again through Arron Scutt in the last minute of the first period.

Kurt Crossley then gave Skegness the lead for the first time on the hour and added a second with virtually the last kick of the game.
