THERE was a buzz of excitement around Burgh Road, the home of Skegness Town, on Saturday, caused by the signing of three of the Lilywhites’ stalwarts, Michael Emery, Damian Howland and Michael Howard, who put pen to paper to commit to the club.
The event came at the end of a week in which Town were encouraged by the turnout at their first training session, and a successful six-a-side tournament at the ground.
The first Wednesday night session attracted a cohort of 20 players, and training again takes place tonight, Wednesday, at 7pm.
The Lilywhites won their inaugural six-a-side tournament by beating Skegness FC 4-2 in the final.
Twelve teams took part in the event, which is to be an annual tournament to raise club funds, and thanks were expressed to the referees, Simon Howards and Andy Redgard, for their support.
