Spalding Town 1
Skegness Town Reserves 2
Skegness Town Reserves reached the last four of the Sports Cup with a hard fought win.
A poor first half display from the seasiders saw Spalding take the lead on the half hour mark and Skegness rarely threatened the home goal during the first period.
In contrast, the Lilywhites increased the tempo after the break and improved their passing and Michael Parnham equalised for the visitors on the hour with a strike from 30 yards.
With 10 minutes remaining, Adrian Verhual scored the winner, he used his strength to hold off the defender and made no mistake from 10 yards.
Youngsters Mason Hazard and Tom Watson at the heart of the Town defence stood firm, dealing with everything Spalding threw at them in search of an equaliser.
Town Reserves now play league leaders Wyberton in the semi-final.
Man of the match - Michael Marinov
Skegness Town Reserves - Scott Daley, Joe Errington, Mason Hazard, Tom Watson, Michael Parnham, John Jeffery, Shaun Connelly, Rhys Mansell, Adrian Verhuel, Michael Marinov, Damian Howland, Scott Dore.
