Town eager to play friendlies

SKEGNESS Town welcome Stewart and Lloyds from Corby to Burgh Road on Saturday, hoping to get their pre-season preparations back on track.

Last weekend’s friendlies were both cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch, leaving the eager squad of players kicking their heels.

But the visit of ChromaSport and Trophies United Counties League side Stewart and Lloyds, will provide the seasiders with a tough test as they prepare for their season ahead.

The Foundrymen are expected to field a strong squad as they warm up for their big league opener at Yaxley on 18 August.

Before that they have an FA Cup tie at Dereham on 11 August.

Saturday’s friendly will kick off at the earlier time of 2pm.

The night before Town take on Louth Town Academy at Burgh Road, kick off is 7pm.
