Storm UK fighters compete in Windsor and Norfolk

Storm UK Martial Arts Club competed in two competitions recently.

The Norfolk Open Competiton saw members reach a podium finish in the tag team competition on March 15.

Storm UK, based in Spilsby and Holbeach, recently took competitors to Norfolk with a brand new fight team, complete with a new uniform for 2015.

A number of fight team hopefuls were also pleased to end up with lots of podium finishes between them on the day.

The competition consists of Traditional Routines, Points Fighting and Continuous Fighting and is based was based in stalham, Norfolk.

Results for the Norfolk open were: Morgan Holland and Danny Felipes - 1st place (Tag Team over 17s); Aidan Pearl and Macauley Grimwood - 2nd place (Tag Team over 17s); Jason Hiew - 2nd place (Traditional Routine 17 plus); Morgan Holland - 3rd place (Points Boys 165 cm+); Jade Harper - 2nd place (Points Girls -165cm); Tammy Brown - 3rd place (Points Novice Ladies 65kg+); Bethany Holland - 3rd place (Points Ladies 65kg+); Marc Thein - 3rd place (points Novice Mens 75kg+); Jason Hiew - 2nd place (Points Mens -65kg); Danny Felipes - 1st place (Points Mens 75kg+); Isabel Wicks - 2nd place (Continuous Girls -30kg); Aidan Pearl - 3rd place (Continuous Mens -75kg); Macauley Grimwood - 1st place (Continuous Mens 75kg+); Morgan Holland - 2nd place (Continuous Boys 60kg+); Jade Harper - 2nd place (Continuous Girls 60kg+);

Storm UK also took a selected four fighters to the CIMAC Adidas Superleague competition in Windsor on Sunday, March 22.

One of the fighters has attended a CIMAC superleague before, Morgan Holland coming fourth in his category in last year’s league table.

Four of the fighters from the fight team are now stepping up to national level competition for the first time, these are: : Morgan Holland, Jason Hiew, Teegan Brown and Alfie Dawes.

Jason, AJ, Teegan and Morgan all enjoyed their points fighting and at a high level competition, although didn’t gain a podium position, they took away some valuable experience and mat time.

Teegan entered the continuous category and came away with a second place, and Morgan who usually enters in the continuous boys 63kg+ category found himself with no one to fight against, so decided to step up into the men’s category -70kg and out of five contestants, managed to come in third place. Morgan Holland gained second place in the senior men’s -70kg Continuous and Teegan Brown achieved second place in the advanced girls’ under 31kg continuous section.

Storm UK are a non-profit club, all staffed voluntarily by qualified instructors and coaches who put in hours of dedication to train everyone.
