ENERGETIC youngsters worked to achieve their own personal best during a mixed non-competitive sports day event held on Monday afternoon.
Pupils were put into mixed teams from reception class to year six at Huttoft Academy, which acquired its new independent academy status also on Monday.
“It was a lovely day where the new children got to mix and socialise with the other pupils from across the school,” said Headteacher, Alison Hurrell.
There was speed bouncing, throwing and catching, and relays with batons suitable for ages four-to-11 years.
“There were even activities for the parents, including tennis ball activities and a golf club exercise which proved a challenge. Rebecca Connick, school games coordinator from Skegness Grammar School, also came down to assist with the day,” added Alison.
The day was also inspired by the recent 2012 Olympics.
